Fabulous. It has really helped me to grow as a person.

Provided important information about my condition.

The self-awareness and personal growth course has been wonderfully insightful. Great course, great facilitators, great! A big thank you for helping me create my new normal.

Taught me things I could use in every day life.

The people facilitating the Emotional Resilience course were so supportive, they made me feel so relaxed.

The whole course was friendly and welcoming!

Gave me techniques that would help me improve myself.

I feel more positive. I found the information very helpful.

Celebrating Achievement

Sunderland Recovery College held its first ‘Celebrating Achievement’ event in June 2016. The event was held at Leechmere with over 70 students, carers, friends and professionals in attendance. The event included presentations from students and facilitators sharing their experiences from their involvement and their own recovery journeys.

Every student received a certificate celebrating their achievements and contributions on their chosen courses. The certificates were presented by Philip Forster from Sunderland Care and Support, and Vida Morris, from Northumberland, Tyne and Wear Foundation NHS Trust.

The afternoon was a great success with everyone looking forward to the coming year’s courses and events.

Well done everyone!

Sunderland Recovery College would like to extend thanks to everyone who has contributed and been involved in its development. In particular, we wish to acknowledge the time given by service users and carers at the workshops.

Our thanks to the Research Project Group “is there a pathway to recovery through care co-ordination?” who support this initiative and have kindly agreed to us using the image throughout this prospectus.
